A former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has advised Peter Obi not to leave the Labour Party, LP.

Obi joined Labour Party prior to the 2023 presidential election.

The former governor of Anambra State contested the presidential election as Labour Party candidate and came third in the contest.

However, the party has since been engulfed in internal crisis, with two factions laying claim to its leadership.

Obi is believed to be part of the opposition coalition that recently adopted the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as its platform.

However, he has continued to insist that he remains a member of the Labour Party.

In a birthday wish to the former Anambra governor, Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna State, said Obi should not leave Labour Party.

β€œHappy Birthday to Mr Peter Obi. My advice, hold thy Labour, it’s the Devil you know. Don’t chase two rabbits at the same time,” Sani wrote on X.

Peter Obi is yet to respond to the former lawmaker’s advice.
