The Federal Government has flagged off the construction of a 35-kilometer transnational road project aimed at enhancing connectivity between Nigeria and Cameroon, with a project cost of β¦70 billion.
The initiative, launched under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will begin in Taraba State and is expected to significantly boost trade, regional cooperation, and infrastructure development in the region.
The road project forms part of broader efforts by the Federal Government to strengthen cross-border ties, promote economic integration within the Lake Chad Basin region, and support the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agenda.
Officials say the project will not only ease movement between both countries but also improve access for border communities and stimulate local economies along the corridor.
Further details on the contractor, execution timeline, and potential regional partnerships are expected to be released in coming weeks.
