NRC Confirms Incident On Warri–itakpe Train Service
The Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC, has confirmed a train accident along the Warri–Itakpe Train Service corridor.
In a statement signed by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation, Kayode Opeifa, the NRC said emergency response teams and relevant authorities have been deployed to the scene to attend to the situation and provide necessary assistance.
Although details of the incident remain sketchy, the Corporation said it is closely monitoring developments and working with relevant agencies to manage the situation.
The NRC added that a comprehensive statement will be issued as soon as more information becomes available.
The Corporation also appealed to members of the public to remain calm and rely only on official channels for verified information and updates regarding the incident.
