Tinubu Reveals Last Visit To Dantata Before His Death, Gives Reason

President Bola Tinubu has Tinubu that he visited the late Nigerian businessman Aminu Dantata before the 2023 presidential elections.

The president said that during the visit, Dantata prayed for him and gave his blessings to him ahead of the poll.

Speaking during a condolence visit to the family of the late businessman in Kano on Friday, Tinubu noted that Dantata was a titan of integrity, humility, and generosity.

He also stated that the late Dantata’s life was totally dedicated to service, philanthropy and devotion to others.

In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, the special adviser to Tinubu on information and strategy, the president was quoted as saying that, Dantata, until his death, embodied the highest values of public service and human compassion.

Recall that Dantata died at the age of 94 on June 28, in a hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

According to his wishes, he was buried beside his wife in Madina, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

β€œI came to him for prayers before the election, and he gave me his blessings. I promised to come back and thank him, but instead of me visiting, he came to Abuja. That was the kind of man he was: humble, simple, and sincere,” the President noted.

β€œIf friendship and goodwill continue into the hereafter, Dantata will be there in the marketplace, feeding the hungry and comforting the sick. He gave so much of himself to the service of our country and its people,” Tinubu said.
