One Killed, Several Abducted as Armed Bandits Raid Zamfara Villages

At least one person has been confirmed dead and several others abducted following separate attacks by armed bandits on two villages in Zamfara State, security sources have confirmed.

The first incident occurred late on Friday, April 11, at approximately 11:00 p.m., when gunmen stormed Tabkin Maza village in the Nassarawa District of Bakura Local Government Area.

According to intelligence reports obtained by Ondopress News, the attackers shot and killed one resident before kidnapping multiple individuals. Police authorities have yet to confirm the exact number of those abducted. The body of the deceased has been released to family members for burial.

Barely 24 hours later, a second attack was recorded in Tsageru village, Tsafe LGA, at around 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, April 12. The assailants reportedly shot and injured one person and set several residential buildings ablaze. The injured victim is currently receiving treatment at a nearby medical facility.

In response to the twin assaults, military forces from Operation Fansar Yamma, stationed in Tsafe, have intensified surveillance and security operations in the affected areas in a bid to track down the perpetrators.
