
The Nigerian Presidency has responded to last ruling by a Washington D.C. judge ordering the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to release documents related to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Bayo Onanuga, through his verified X page, dismissed the development as inconsequential, maintaining that the documents in question have long been in the public domain and do not implicate the President in any wrongdoing.
“There is nothing new to be revealed,” the Presidency said. “The report by Agent Moss of the FBI and the DEA report have been in the public space for more than 30 years. The reports did not indict the Nigerian leader.”
The statement also noted that legal experts are currently reviewing the implications of the U.S. court’s decision. “The lawyers are examining the ruling,” it added.
