Senator Abu Ibrahim, a prominent political figure from Katsina State and a staunch ally of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to former Nasarawa State Governor, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, at his Jabi Lake office in Abuja.
Both senators are notable members of the now-defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), one of the legacy parties that formed the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Senator Al-Makura remains the only CPC governor to have completed two terms in office before the party’s merger.
The closed-door meeting, though brief, is generating political interest, especially as the CPC bloc continues to play a quiet but strategic role within the APC’s internal structure.
Sources close to the meeting described the visit as a friendly interaction rooted in mutual respect and long-standing political camaraderie. However, details of their discussion were not made public.
Senator Abu Ibrahim has long been regarded as a key figure in Northern politics and was instrumental in the political rise of both President Tinubu and former President Muhammadu Buhari within the region.
