
Prominent Nigerian politician and former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has taken a swipe at residents of Asokoro, one of Abuja’s most elite neighborhoods, over their long-standing bragging rights to stable power supply, allegedly due to their proximity to the Presidential Villa.
In a post laced with satire, Sani noted that with the Presidential Villa now running on solar energy, the perceived power advantage enjoyed by Asokoro residents may soon vanish.
“People living in Asokoro used to boast that because of the Villa, they have relatively better power supply,” Sani wrote. “With solar in the Villa, now they will join the rest of the country in getting their fair share of the darkness.”
