Tinubu Pledges Completion of Kano-Maradi Rail Line by 2026

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the 284-kilometre Kano-Jigawa-Katsina-Maradi rail line will be completed by 2026, reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to enhancing transportation infrastructure across the country.

Speaking in Katsina on Friday during the inauguration of the state’s Agricultural Mechanisation Centre and the newly constructed 24-kilometre Eastern Bypass, both initiated by the Katsina State Government, President Tinubu reiterated the strategic importance of the rail project.

The Federal Government plans to complete the 284 kilometre Kano-Jigawa-Katsina-Maradi rail project by 2026,” Tinubu announced.When finished, the project will ease the transportation of persons and goods, thereby relieving the pressure on our roads.”

In addition to the rail initiative, the President disclosed that the Zaria–Hunkuyi–Dabai–Kafur–Malumfashi–Dayi–Gidan Mutum Daya Road project has also been awarded.

We are determined to deliver these roads on schedule. We have resolved the previous technical and bureaucratic challenges; work is ongoing,” he stated.

The infrastructure projects are part of the administration’s broader efforts to stimulate economic growth through improved connectivity and logistics. CONTINUE READING
