Renewed Violence in Imo: Multiple Killed, Travellers Abducted by Unknown Gunmen

Imo State was rocked by a fresh wave of violence yesterday as unknown gunmen launched coordinated attacks in different parts of the state.

Multiple people were killed, and several vehicles were set ablaze in one of the attacks.

Ondopress learnt that In a separate but equally disturbing incident, another group of armed assailants targeted interstate travellers, killing the driver and abducting several passengers.

Among the abducted is Professor Herbert Batta of the University of Uyo, a respected academic figure. The motive behind the attacks remains unclear, and no group has yet claimed responsibility.

Security forces have reportedly been deployed to the affected areas, and investigations are ongoing.
