Breaking: JAMB Confirms Technical Glitch Affected 157 UTME Centres, Orders Re-examination

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that a technical glitch impacted 157 out of 887 examination centres during the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), significantly contributing to the poor performance reported by many candidates.

The announcement was made by JAMB Chairman, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, who stated that the board has thoroughly investigated the matter and identified the affected centres.

“As such, all the affected candidates will be contacted to reprint their examination slips and will be required to retake their examinations starting from 16th May, 2025,” Oloyede said.

The decision is part of the board’s commitment to ensuring fairness and maintaining the integrity of the examination process. JAMB also assured that necessary safeguards have been implemented to prevent future occurrences of such glitches.

Parents and candidates are advised to regularly check their emails and JAMB portals for updates on rescheduling and further instructions.

This development comes amid growing concerns and public outcry over the widespread low scores recorded in the 2025 UTME.
