Akpabio Inaugurates 23 Constituency Projects in Akwa Ibom North-West

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has commissioned a total of 23 constituency projects across various communities in Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District, marking the second day of a large-scale commissioning event aimed at improving infrastructure and social services in the region.

The projects span key sectors including education, health, road infrastructure, market development, ICT, and security, reflecting a multi-faceted development agenda targeted at grassroots empowerment.

Highlights of the commissioned projects include:

  1. A newly constructed school block at Community Secondary School, Uruk Ata 2
  2. ICT centres at Ikot Esop, Ikono Annang Comprehensive School, St. Augustine, Urua Inyang, and Community Secondary School, Ekparakwa
  3. 500-metre roads in Inyang Ekpo, Idung Nneke, Anwa Uyo, Urua Obo Okoyo, and Ikot Eseden, Ika LGA
  4. Ultra-modern markets in Otoro Obong Mboho Annang, Mkpohoeto, Ikot Udom (Ika LGA), Urua Ekun, Ukanafun LGA, and Urua Anwa
  5. A Primary Health Centre in Ikot Akpa Nkuk
  6. Classroom blocks in Abat Town, Etim Ekpo, Urua Inyang, Ikot Afanga (Oruk Anam LGA), and Ikot Okoro
  7. A new Police Station at Utu Etim Ekpo
  8. Installation of a transformer and electric cables at Ekparakwa
  9. Provision of borehole water and equipping of schools

Speaking during the commissioning, Akpabio stated that the projects were part of his ongoing commitment to equitable development and improving the standard of living for constituents.

“These projects are meant to directly touch the lives of the people. Development must not only be seen in the state capital; rural communities deserve modern infrastructure and access to basic services,” he said.

Residents and community leaders across the senatorial district lauded the efforts of the Senate President, describing the projects as life-changing and timely.
