The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Ondo State Branch has declared an indefinite industrial action set to begin Friday, June 13, 2025, over the state government’s alleged failure to honor a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed nearly a decade ago.
In a notice issued and electronically signed by the union’s Secretary, Alade Kehinde, JUSUN cited the expiration of a 7-day ultimatum issued on June 4, 2025, and the government’s continued silence on unresolved issues dating back to the agreement signed on May 20, 2015.
The union instructed all its members to stay off duty indefinitely and to fully comply with the industrial action guidelines until further notice.
“We direct all our members to stay off duty starting from tomorrow, June 13, 2025, till further directive, and to adhere strictly to the industrial action guidelines,” the statement read.
JUSUN emphasized unity among its members with the rallying slogan:
“A PEOPLE UNITED CAN NEVER BE DEFEATED!!!”
Efforts to reach government officials for comments were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
Ondo State’s judicial system is now expected to face disruptions, with court activities likely to be paralyzed until the impasse is resolved.

Dear Esteemed Members,
We, the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Ondo State Branch, hereby notify you that we will commence our planned industrial action starting tomorrow, June 13, 2025.
This decision follows the expiration of the 7-day ultimatum issued to the Government of Ondo State on June 4, 2025, and the lack of response from the government to address the reneged parts of the agreements outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on May 20, 2015.
We direct all our members to stay off duty starting from tomorrow, June 13, 2025, till further directive, and to adhere strictly to the industrial action guidelines.
We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of all our members during this period.
