The Russian government has issued a strong warning to the United States, urging it to refrain from engaging in any military action against Iran, warning that such a move could trigger “uncontrollable consequences.”
The warning was delivered by Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a press briefing on Thursday.
“We strongly caution Washington against any military escalation involving Iran,” Zakharova said. “Any such involvement risks leading to uncontrollable consequences in an already volatile region.”
The statement comes amid rising tensions following reports of potential U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian military and nuclear sites.
Russia, a key ally of Tehran, has repeatedly emphasized the importance of diplomatic resolution and regional stability, warning Western powers against actions that could ignite a broader conflict.
As of press time, the U.S. government has not issued an official response to Moscow’s latest remarks.
