Luka Modric has officially ended his glittering Real Madrid career after the club’s 0-4 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final.

Though the outcome did not reflect the splendor of his time, the Croatian maestro leaves a legacy that few can equal.

The 39-year-old midfielder, who joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012, gave his farewell emotional interview to the club’s official media.

Modric spoke with genuine words and apparent passion about the path that defined not just his career, but also the club’s golden age. Reported On X.

“An unforgettable, glorious, and winning stage has ended,” Modric said, reflecting on his 12-year stint in Madrid.

“What I’ve encountered makes me happier. Even though it is finished, thinking back on what I have accomplished here makes me very happy.

The Croatian international went on to discuss his personal development both on and off the pitch.

“At Real Madrid, I’ve developed as a player and as a person. Real Madrid has given me everything in terms of football, and I will be eternally thankful. “I’ll always be a Madridista.”

Real Madrid’s Most Decorated Player

Modric leaves Real Madrid as the most successful player in the club’s history, having won 28 trophies.

His honours include six Champions League titles, which have come to represent the club’s dominance over the last decade.

For him, the significance of these accomplishments is only now beginning to register. “It has been a long journey, but unforgettable,” he told me.

“I’ve matured significantly as a player and as a person. I have another dwelling outside my house since Madrid and Spain are like second homes for me.

“I’m very happy and I’m sure that with time I’ll be even more aware of what I’ve achieved, because I’m going to need some time to add up all the emotions and everything I’ve achieved here.”

Reflecting on his impressive trophy haul, Modric admitted: “Hearing my numbers makes me happy and proud of what I’ve accomplished.”

“Being the player who has won the most titles at the best club in the history of football is impressive.”

But it wasn’t only the silverware that counted. Modric values the adoration of his supporters seriously.
