Contrary to the aspirations of many football stars, Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has disclosed that he doesn’t really fancy a move to the Premier League.

The Super Eagles striker, in a recent interview, revealed that he first takes into consideration the playing style of a team before making a move.

The 24-year-old, however, explained that it doesn’t mean he will not make a move should the opportunity arise.

“I don’t really like the Premier League… Not like I wouldn’t go if the opportunity came, but it has to be a team that suits my style,” Boniface said.

“Every team I’ve played for since I turned pro has finished first or second. I always check the style of play and whether there’s too much pressure. Some players can’t play under pressure,” he added.

Boniface noted that he had multiple offers from the Premier League before joining Bayer Leverkusen from Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium.

“After Belgium, I had good talks from England. Good morning, good everything,” he joked.

“But I didn’t want to go to those teams because of their style. I’m a player that thrives in a possession-based system. If you give me that, I’ll give you everything.”
