Security forces in Zamfara have rescued two victims abducted by suspected bandits in Moriki District, Zurmi Local Government Area of the state, authorities said on Tuesday.
Report had it that the incident occurred at about 7:00 a.m. on June 16, 2025, when suspected armed bandits attacked farmers along Dunfawa–Alawa Road in Moriki and abducted five persons.
In a separate attack, another group of bandits abducted two farmers in Tudun Moriki.
The combined troops alongside members of the CPG (Civilian Protection Group) and engaged the suspects in a gun duel.
This resulted in the rescue of Malam Adamu Kasimu and Ibrahim Haruna, while efforts are ongoing to rescue the rest of the victims.
