Kidnappers Refuse To Free Ex-NYSC DG After After A Fail Negotiation – Family Raise Alarm

A family member of the former director-general of the NYSC, Brig. Gen. Maharazu Tsiga (rtd) has dismissed reports that had been released from captivity.

Speaking to LEADERSHIP Sunday in Katsina, Abdulahi Tsiga said although negotiations with the kidnappers had been completed and all terms agreed upon, the family was still awaiting the bandits to fulfil their part of the agreement.

He said rumours about his release were false, even as they had done everything required and were only waiting for the bandits. He expressed optimism that the ex-NYSC DG would soon regain freedom.

Tsiga was abducted from his home in Tsiga village, Bakori local government area of Katsina State on February 6, 2025.

His captors, led by a notorious bandit leader, initially demanded a N250 million ransom.
