A 37-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested in the United Kingdom after it emerged that he had allegedly impregnated his wife, her mother, and her younger sister, sparking outrage and disbelief across communities.

The suspect, whose identity is being withheld to protect the privacy of the victims, was taken into custody by Metropolitan Police officers in South London following a formal complaint filed by his wife. The bizarre and disturbing case has drawn widespread attention and prompted investigations into possible coercion and abuse.

According to police reports, the man had been living with his wife and in-laws under the same roof for over two years. It is alleged that during this period, he engaged in secret sexual relationships with both his mother-in-law and sister-in-law, resulting in all three women becoming pregnant within months of each other.

The wife reportedly discovered the truth after noticing inconsistencies and suspicious behaviour within the household. DNA tests later confirmed that her husband was the father of all three unborn children.

In her statement to authorities, the wife expressed deep emotional trauma and betrayal. “I married a man I thought I knew, but he turned out to be a monster who destroyed my family from within,” she said.

The mother-in-law, 51, and the sister-in-law, 19, are said to be cooperating with police, claiming they were manipulated and emotionally coerced by the man, who allegedly used cultural and religious justifications to rationalise his actions.

The suspect faces multiple charges, including incest-related offences, emotional abuse, and sexual misconduct. UK law prohibits sexual relationships with certain in-laws, particularly where manipulation or abuse of trust is involved.

The Nigerian High Commission in London has confirmed awareness of the incident but has declined to comment pending the outcome of legal proceedings.

Authorities have placed the three women under protective care while psychological support services have been mobilised to assist the family.

The case is scheduled to appear before a magistrates’ court later this week.
