Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is reportedly prepared to take a significant pay cut to leave Old Trafford in the current transfer window, with Juventus emerging as his most likely destination, according to Sportskeeda.
According to Corriere dello Sport (via Daily Mail), Sancho is willing to slash his wages by as much as £200,000 per week in order to facilitate a move to the Serie A giants. The 25-year-old clearly has no future at United following a difficult spell that has seen him fall down the pecking order and spend last season on loan at Chelsea.
Although Chelsea were initially linked with a permanent move for the England international, the deal reportedly broke down due to Sancho’s high salary demands, which became a stumbling block during negotiations.
Sancho is now said to be in active talks with Juventus, who are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of a return to the UEFA Champions League. However, Manchester United are reportedly demanding £25 million to sanction his exit, despite the player entering the final year of his contract in 2026.
There have also been suggestions of a possible swap deal, involving players such as Douglas Luiz, Dusan Vlahovic, or Timothy Weah moving to United, though nothing has been finalized. If a permanent transfer cannot be agreed upon, Juventus are still open to signing Sancho on loan for the 2025/26 campaign.
Since joining United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, Sancho has failed to live up to expectations, managing just 12 goals and 6 assists in 83 appearances. His loan spell at Chelsea last season yielded 3 goals and 5 assists in 31 games, showing flashes of potential but not enough to justify his hefty wage package.
A move to Turin could offer the out-of-favour winger a chance to rejuvenate his career, especially with Juventus competing at the top level again.
