Aaron Cresswell had a brilliant time at West Ham United.

Signing from Ipswich Town in 2014, Cresswell went on to make 369 appearances for the club.

During this time period, he experienced many highs and lows in a Hammers shirt.

This includes multiple seasons playing European football.

In both 2015 and 2016, West Ham failed to make it past the playoff round in each of these seasons of the Europa League, losing to Romanian side Astra Giurgiu on both occasions.

Fast forward to the 2020’s and West Ham endured their most successful period since their 1980 FA Cup final win.

A 2022 Europa League semi-final loss to Eintracht Frankfurt was followed up a year later with a 2-1 win over Fiorentina in the 2023 UEFA Europa Conference League final.

They reached the quarter-final of the Europa League in 2024 but bowed out to finalists Bayer Leverkusen.

Cresswell started to see his minutes diminish towards the end of his time at West Ham, departing at the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.

Earlier this week, he signed a one-year deal with EFL Championship side Stoke City.

The Hammers appear to have found his replacement, with one deal reportedly close to getting over the dotted line.

According to reports, West Ham have agreed to sign Slavia Prague left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf.

For a fee of €22 million, he becomes manager Graham Potter’s second signing of the window, after centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo made his loan deal permanent for €40 million earlier this summer.

Diouf, 20, made 18 league appearances for Slavia Prague in 2024/25.

He managed to score six goals in those 18 games from the full-back and wing back position.

His eye for a goal will be a welcome addition to a side that has often plays with three at the back under Potter.
