The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Monday, July 15, 2025, as a public holiday to honour the memory of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday after a prolonged illness.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior on Monday afternoon.
According to the statement, the public holiday is to allow Nigerians reflect on the life and legacy of the late president, whose leadership spanned several decades in both military and democratic roles.
