Ex-presidential aide Reno Omokri has questioned the absence of former presidential candidate Peter Obi at the funeral of late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Ondopress reported that Buhari died on Sunday in a London hospital after a prolonged illness. His remains were flown into Nigeria on Tuesday and were laid to rest in his Daura residence in Katsina.

Present during the funeral were President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, among others.

However, Obi was absent, forcing a reaction from Omokri, who said:

“Last week, he found time to serve food at parties. Today, he was too busy to attend the funeral of one of Arewa’s greatest sons. Maybe he was serving food somewhere!

“This was a man who, only a few weeks ago, was insulting President Tinubu for his choice of outfit when he paid a condolence visit to Yelewata, yet he did not go to Benue.

“The message is loud and clear!”
