A man identified as Umar Auwal, popularly known as “Abba Dujal,” and alleged to be a serial killer and armed robbery kingpin, has surrendered himself to the Kano State Police Command.
Police confirmed that the suspect, a resident of Wudil Local Government Area, voluntarily turned himself in to the Command’s Anti-Daba (Anti-Thuggery) Squad at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
Authorities say he confessed to involvement in multiple cases of culpable homicide, armed robbery, and the theft of motorcycles and mobile phones across Kano State and surrounding areas.
The development follows a statewide clearance operation launched by the police on April 12, which led to the arrest of 61 suspects at various identified criminal black spots and hideouts within Kano metropolis and its environs. Multiple exhibits were recovered during the raids, police said.
A spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command confirmed the ongoing investigation into Auwal’s criminal network, stating that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend his accomplices.
“The Command remains committed to rooting out criminal elements from all corners of the state and will continue to intensify its intelligence-led operations to safeguard lives and property,” the spokesperson said. Continue>
