Preliminary investigations show the suspect had been released on parole in 2022 after serving part of a life sentence imposed in 2002 by the Polokwane High Court for fatally shooting three women, including his then‑girlfriend, in Westenburg. At the time of the latest incident, he was reportedly living with the deceased at her parental home in Seshego.

Limpopo Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe condemned the killing, expressing deep concern over ongoing violence against women and stressing that parole conditions must be strictly adhered to, with any breach met with decisive action by law enforcement.

The accused is expected to appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 9 February 2026, on a murder charge as police investigations continue.
