Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have sustained offensive momentum in Borno State, successfully repelling a failed ISWAP attack on FOB Auno on 5 February 2026.

Exploiting the failed assault, troops in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force conducted a decisive counter-offensive on 9 February 2026 along the Komala–Gidan Kaji axis in Konduga LGA, neutralising 16 terrorists and scattering others with injuries.

Several weapons, over 20 bicycles, and key logistics supplies were recovered, while suspected logistics couriers conveying illicit drugs to terrorist elements were arrested around the Bukarti axis.

In separate but related operations, troops foiled a kidnap attempt along the Buratai–Kamuya road, rescuing two victims, and later responded swiftly to a distress call along the Chibok–Damboa axis, freeing nine additional kidnapped civilians.
