Kebbi State: Police Confirms 33 Dead in Armed Cattle Rustling
The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed that 33 persons lost their lives following an armed cattle rustling incident on 18th February 2025 in Bui District of Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, Anisma, security agencies, in collaboration with the Military, have intensified operations in the area and deployed additional personnel to restore stability.
Preliminary investigations indicate that suspected Lakurawa armed militants crossed into the district from Gudu Local Government Area in Sokoto State.
Local residents mobilized to respond to the attack, leading to the fatal confrontation.
The Command expresses its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the entire Arewa community. Residents are urged to report any suspicious movements and to avoid direct confrontation with armed criminals.
Targeted operations are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators and prevent a recurrence of the incident.
