Bandits Attack Fulani Camp in Kogi, Kill One and Abduct Two

Unknown gunmen have reportedly attacked a Fulani settlement in Ohiana Village, Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State in the early hours of Feb. 25, killing one person and abducting two others.

According to sources, the assailants, armed with AK-47 rifles, cutlasses, and sticks, stormed the camp at about 12:24 a.m., abducting two females identified as Fatima Ardo, 25, and Saadatu Muhammad, 21.

During the attack, a male resident, Usman Ibrahim, 32, sustained serious injuries and later died while receiving treatment at Okegwe General Hospital.

A joint security response was immediately deployed to assess the scene and gather evidence, including photographs.

Authorities have mapped out strategies for rescue operations, including forest and bush searches, alongside intelligence gathering to secure the release of the abducted victims and apprehend the perpetrators.

Investigations into the attack are ongoing.
