“I’ll Resign If Tinubu Doesn’t Win” — Nigeria Governor Vows
Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has declared that he would resign from office if President Bola Tinubu fails to secure victory, expressing strong confidence in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State.
The governor made the bold statement while dismissing the strength of the opposition, insisting that there is no formidable challenger in the state. According to him, the APC enjoys widespread grassroots support, which he attributed to what he described as the visible impact of Tinubu’s leadership.
Okpebholo also took a swipe at former governor Godwin Obaseki, questioning his political relevance and maintaining that his record in office would make it difficult for him to campaign freely in Edo.
Highlighting ongoing infrastructure projects, including flyovers and major road constructions, the governor said these achievements would ultimately speak for his administration and translate into electoral success for the APC.
Reaffirming his confidence, Okpebholo stressed that his style of politics is rooted in grassroots engagement rather than thuggery, adding that the people of Edo would reward performance at the polls.
