Actress Joke Silva: You Get Away With A Lot Of Things If You Marry An Old Man

Veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva, has revealed one of the perks of marrying an older man, offering rare insight into her decades-long union with industry icon Olu Jacobs.

The 64-year-old actress made the revelation during her recent appearance on TVC’s Your View, where she reflected on their love story and marriage. According to reports, Joke Silva married Olu Jacobs in 1985, despite their 20-year age gap.

Speaking about how their relationship began, she admitted it wasn’t exactly love at first sight for her. “Yes we met on stage, and when we met on a movie set, everybody knew it was the great Olu Jacob who was coming, except me.

When he came, we got on very well and it was after we started dating that I discovered his age because he looked so good. “For him, it was love at first sight but for me, it wasn’t. These older men allow you to get away with a lot of things.”

Olu Jacobs was 44 years old when he tied the knot with the then 24-year-old Joke Silva. Their marriage, which has lasted nearly four decades, is blessed with two children and remains one of Nollywood’s most admired love stories.
