44-Year-Old Nigerian Man Jailed To Life Imprisonment In Gambia For Raping A 7-year-old
A 44-year-old Nigerian national, Moses Ukwai, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the High Court in Banjul, Gambia for raping and d+filing a 7-year-old girl.
Justice S.K. Jobarteh delivered the judgment on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Ukwai faced two charges of rape under Section 3(1)(a), punishable under Section 4(1)(bb) of the Sexual Offences Act, 2013, relating to offences committed in April 2025.
He was found guilty on the first count, while the second count involving an 8-year-old was dismissed.See More, Details. .
The court said that full witness testimonies and detailed sentencing records will be released on Monday, March 9, 2026.
