Award-winning Afro Pop singer Naima Kay is back, by popular demand.

The singer, whose real name is Lungile Khumalo, has transitioned from singing about heartbreak to celebrating the joy of finding love.

“It hasn’t been easy, because people know me for singing about heartbreak. That was until I found new love. It has changed me emotionally and helped me reshape my songwriting. I started writing feel-good songs about finding love and being in love. Love is beautiful, and I have to mention that it changes a person’s character,” she said.

Naima Kay explained that she never quit music, but rather decided to take a break to focus on her sick grandmother.

“I never quit music; I decided to take a break to look after my grandmother, who was gravely ill. At some stage, I wanted to relocate to Johannesburg, but by God’s grace, I have been able to release new music, working with new, young songwriters and producers from Umlazi,” she said.

She revealed that her new producers are Bab’Omncane (real name Sphelele Mkhize) and Zakwethu (real name Sanele Ndlovu).

Naima Kay also mentioned that she previously released a song with Mnqobi Yazo titled Esifubeni Sami.

“I want to inspire lovers to dance to the beat of love through my music. I always seek to inspire greatness in those who have lost hope, those who are searching for love, and all those who are deeply in love. I’m sharing my journey with the world, understanding that love is a precious gift given to us by God. With God as your anchor, love will always reign supreme,” she said.
