Borno Fresh Attack: Terrorists Kill Soldiers, Abduct Over 100 Women and Children

Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents abducted more than 100 women and children during a deadly a§§ault on Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State, shortly after Muslims broke their fast on Wednesday. The attackers also k+lled several soldiers, the town’s chief imam, and some community elders.

According to local and security sources, the terrorists first targeted a military base of the 82 Division Task Force Battalion before storming the town and an Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp. A security source explained that the troops were overpowered due to the attackers’ large numbers, allowing the militants to ransack the community and surrounding areas.

Nine soldiers’ bodies have been recovered so far, while the exact toll among civilians remains unclear. The attackers also b¥rnt armored tanks and military vehicles and seized an unspecified quantity of ammunition. Sources allege that insider information may have facilitated the coordinated attack. “The chief imam and some elders were killed, and over 100 women and children were abducted or are missing,” one source said, highlighting the devastating impact of the raid on the community.
