“I Don’t Have My Own Car After Decades in Acting” – Veteran Actor Alebiosu Laments

Veteran Nollywood actor Alebiosu has opened up about the financial struggles he has faced despite spending decades in the Nigerian movie industry.

Speaking about his experience, the actor revealed that he has been involved in acting since 1979, yet he still does not own a personal car.

According to him, seeing former students and younger people who have passed through his training achieving financial success sometimes leaves him emotional.

“Whenever I see my students who passed through me having two or three cars, I get emotional and start asking myself questions about where I went wrong, See More. .” he said.

The actor also described difficult experiences he has had while working on movie sets in Nollywood productions.
He explained that during some productions, the vehicle arranged to convey him would later be withdrawn unexpectedly.

“Most times when I go to a movie location and the producers show me the car that will be taking me around, after some time the driver will just come and tell me to come and pick my bags from the car,” he said.

Alebiosu added that the situation has made him break down in tears on several occasions.

His revelation has sparked conversations among fans and industry observers about the welfare and financial stability of veteran actors in Nollywood.

Many stakeholders have repeatedly called for better support systems, pensions, and recognition for pioneers who contributed to building the Nigerian film industry.
