The Dangote Refinery has expanded its domestic fuel distribution network with fresh supplies of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), aviation fuel and diesel to several depots across Nigeria.

The development is part of efforts by the refinery to strengthen local supply and improve the availability of refined petroleum products nationwide.

Industry shipping data obtained in Lagos showed that several vessels have already discharged petrol to major depots including Bovas, AYM Shafa, Rain Oil and others.

Among the vessels delivering PMS is ST Lady Meenah, which discharged about 30,000 metric tonnes at the Lister depot for AYM Shafa after arriving on March 7 and berthing on March 8.

The vessel Mosunmola delivered 45,000 metric tonnes of petrol to the Pinnacle terminal, supplying major marketers including Ardova Plc and North West Petroleum.

Another vessel, Savanna, transported about 20,000 metric tonnes of PMS to the AYM Shafa depot to boost fuel supply within the domestic market.

In addition to petrol, the refinery also shipped aviation fuel (Jet A1) to various operators. The vessel AT Amrah delivered 44,000 metric tonnes of aviation fuel to the Pinnacle depot for Vitol, while Torm Grace discharged another 44,000 metric tonnes for BP Oil.
