Unknown Gunmen Killed ECWA Member, Abduct Wife and Four Others in Kwara Community

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappershave reportedly killed a member of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), identified as Omoniyi Ajise, and abd¥cted his wife along with four other residents during an attack in Oyatedo village, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, according to a communiqué issued by ECWA leaders in the state.

The statement explained that the attackers stormed the community, killed Ajise and forcefully took away his wife and four others to an unknown destination.

Church leaders described the development as part of the growing insecurity affecting communities in the Kwara South Senatorial District.

“Many pastors are now without congregations, while members and residents have been compelled to flee their homes. Economic activities have been severely disrupted and many families have been pushed into hardship,” the communiqué stated.
