BREAKING: Netanyahu Urges World Leaders to Join US-Israel Campaign Against Iran After Arad Missile Strike
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the site of an Iranian missile impact in the southern city of Arad on Sunday, calling for a broader international coalition to support the joint Israeli-U.S. military campaign against Iran.
The strike in Arad part of a barrage that also targeted the nearby city of Dimona, home to Israel’s main nuclear research center wounded more than 100 people and underscored the escalating three-week-old conflict. Netanyahu used the occasion to highlight what he described as Iran’s growing global threat.
“They fired an intercontinental ballistic missile on Diego Garcia… They have now the capacity to reach deep into Europe,” Netanyahu said, referring to Iran’s unsuccessful weekend attack on the joint UK-U.S. military base in the Indian Ocean, roughly 4,000 kilometers from Iran. “They are putting everyone in their sights.”
He accused Tehran of trying to “blackmail the entire world” by disrupting the Strait of Hormuz, the critical waterway through which about 20 percent of global oil passes. U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to reopen the strait or face strikes on Iranian power plants, amid rising global energy prices.
“It’s time to see the leaders of the rest of the countries join up,” Netanyahu added. He noted that some nations are already showing signs of support but said “more is needed.”
Netanyahu also condemned recent Iranian missile activity near Jerusalem’s holiest sites. “They fired on Jerusalem, right next to the holy sites of the three monotheistic faiths: the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque,” he said. “By dint of a miracle, none of them were hurt, but they were targeting the holy sites of the three major monotheistic religions.”
When asked about Israel’s response to attacks on civilians, the prime minister stressed a targeted strategy. “We’re responding with great force, but not on civilians. We’re going after the regime. We’re going after the IRGC, this criminal gang, and we’re going after them personally, their leaders, their installations, their economic assets. We’re going after them very strongly.”
The remarks come as the U.S. and Israel press a campaign dubbed Operation Lion’s Roar in some statements aimed at degrading Iran’s nuclear program, missile capabilities, and Revolutionary Guard infrastructure. Iran has denied responsibility for the Diego Garcia strike in some statements but continues retaliatory actions.
The conflict, which began in late February with strikes on Iranian targets, has raised fears of wider regional instability and threats to European security from Tehran’s advancing missile See more, Full Details. .
