Ogun Govt Takes Over Prosecution of NYSC Official Accused in Corps Member’s Death — Dismisses Claims of Weak Evidence
The Ogun State Government has officially taken over the prosecution of Abass Olalekan, the NYSC Local Government Inspector (LGI) for Abeokuta South, who was arraigned over the death of Victoria Ariyo, a female corps member who died on March 17 following a suspected abortion procedure.
In a statement, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade (SAN) , clarified that Olalekan’s bail was granted solely because the charges are bailable, and does not reflect the strength of the evidence.
He dismissed claims circulating online about weak evidence or missing witnesses as “false and misleading,” noting that the case is still at a preliminary stage.See more, details. .
