“I just motioned to subpoena Don Trump Jr. for funneling $670 million in taxpayer dollars to a critical minerals company he has financial stake in. Republicans left the hearing room,” Dexter wrote on X.

The Republicans’ refusal to even consider the subpoena motion does nothing to protect Don Jr. in the long rung, it simply delays the inevitable while making it clear that these elected crooks endorse the White House’s rampant corruption. If and when Democrats retake Congress after the midterm elections, Don Jr. will lose his protection.

The issue in question is his stake in Vulcan Elements, a rare earth startup. That company received a jaw-dropping $620 million Defense Department loan just three months after 1789 Capital — which Don Jr. is invested in — bought stake in them. Vulcan then received an additional $50 million deal when the government conveniently decided to buy partial ownership in the company.

“For years, Republicans set a clear standard: when the President’s family profits from their name and office, it demands investigation. Suddenly, that standard has vanished,” said Representative Dexter.

“If there is nothing to hide, then why won’t Donald Trump Jr. explain to this committee why, just months after becoming a partner, his firm’s financial stake grew substantially following the single largest loan ever issued by the Pentagon’s Office of Strategic Capital?” she added.
