Professor Nentawe Yilwatda has emerged as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following his return at the party’s 4th Elective National Convention held Friday night at Eagle Square, Abuja.
Surajudeen Basiru was also announced as the party’s National Secretary, alongside other members of the National Working Committee elected through a consensus arrangement ratified by delegates at the convention.
The results were declared by the Convention Election Committee, which supervised the process amid the presence of top party leaders and government officials.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, were among key dignitaries who attended the convention.
Party officials described the consensus-based emergence of the new leadership as a reflection of internal consultations aimed at sustaining unity and stability within the APC ahead of future electoral contests.
