New Crisis Escalated In Jos: Young Man Beaten To Death As Curfew Relaxation Triggers Deadly Mob Attack

Heightened tension returned to Jos, Plateau State, on Wednesday after the state eased its 48-hour curfew following the d+adly Angwan Rukuba attack.

The relaxed curfew, now set from 7am to 3pm, was intended to allow residents to resume normal activities.

However, the move sparked fresh chaos, with angry mobs and hoodlums attacking motorists and passers-by across the city. Several reports claim that a young man walking near the University of Jos Permanent Site was b£aten to d+ath by the mob.

Windscreens of several vehicles were smashed in areas including Terminus, Bauchi Road, Farin Gada, Tina Junction, Chobe, and the University of Jos axis.

The violence forced businesses to close, leaving banks and shops shut as residents feared further attacks. Joy Bature, a shop owner at Terminus Market, said, “We are scared to open our shops. We don’t know what might happen.”
