Actress Stella Damasus has opened up about how upbringing shapes a person’s relationship with money, fame, and the need for validation.

Speaking on a recent episode of Tea with Tay, Damasus explained that growing up in a comfortable and loving home can make individuals less likely to be overwhelmed by wealth or public attention later in life.

“The truth is, when you grow up in a comfortable home, there’s no amount of money or fame that will move you crazy. When there’s love at home… what is it that anything wants to do to me that I did not experience growing up?” she said.

She added that those raised in stable environments often develop a grounded mindset, already having emotional fulfillment that money alone cannot provide.

Damasus clarified that she wasn’t talking about wealth or a luxurious lifestyle, but rather a balanced upbringing that shapes perspective and priorities.

“So when I see people going all crazy because of money, I sometimes think, maybe you’re not used to this. If you’ve grown up with a certain lifestyle, you recognize what feels like an achievement and can be content: ‘This is good. I’ve achieved this. That’s okay. Keep it moving,’” she explained.

She also criticized the mentality of flaunting wealth or seeking validation through material possessions.
