BREAKING NEWS: Tinubu in Brasilia for Two-Day State Visit, Eyes Multi-Billion-Dollar Agricultural and Energy Deals

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, on a two-day state visit at the invitation of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The visit, described as a major step in deepening Nigeria–Brazil relations, will feature bilateral meetings, a Nigeria–Brazil Business Forum with leading investors, and the signing of key agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) across critical sectors.

According to the Presidency, discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation in agriculture, energy, technology, aviation, renewable energy, and cultural exchange.

Top on the agenda is the activation of multi-billion-dollar agricultural investments, including progress on the $1.1 billion Green Imperative mechanization project, aimed at boosting Nigeria’s food security and rural development.

The visit will also seek to attract new inflows of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into Nigeria’s agriculture and energy sectors, deepen political trust between both nations, and expand opportunities in renewable energy, climate resilience, and digital transformation.

President Tinubu is accompanied by senior government officials, cabinet ministers, and a business delegation.
