BREAKING NEWS: Equatorial Guinea official Baltasar Ebang Engonga jailed 8 years for embezzlement of public funds after s€x tape scandal
A former senior finance official in Equatorial Guinea, Ebang Engonga, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for embezzling public funds.
Engonga, popularly known as “Bello,” was found guilty of diverting state resources under the guise of travel expenses, according to court findings.
The disgraced official had previously drawn public attention over a leaked explicit video scandal that shook the country’s political and social circles.
Authorities described the sentencing as part of an ongoing crackdown on financial misconduct and abuse of office in the oil-rich Central African nation.
The case has sparked mixed reactions across Equatorial Guinea, with many citizens viewing the ruling as a rare step toward accountability in a country often criticized for corruption and lack of transparency.
