Jonathan Yet to Rule Out 2027 Presidential Bid, Says Cousin
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has not dismissed the possibility of contesting in the 2027 presidential election, contrary to reports suggesting otherwise.
Jonathan’s cousin, Azibaola Robert, clarified the matter in a statement posted on his verified Facebook page. He refuted claims that the former leader had abandoned any political ambition ahead of 2027.
Robert, however, stopped short of confirming whether Jonathan has definite plans to join the race, stressing only that the former president has not closed the door on such a move.
The clarification comes amid growing speculations over Jonathan’s political future and potential alignments ahead of the next general elections.
More details are expected as the situation develops.
