APC Wins 20 LG Chairmanship Seats, PDP Secures 3 in Rivers

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the recently concluded local government elections in Rivers State, clinching 20 chairmanship seats across the state’s councils.
The opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), however, managed to secure three chairmanship positions, according to official results announced by the State Independent Electoral Commission.
Party supporters trooped out in celebration in several APC-controlled councils, describing the outcome as a consolidation of grassroots support. The PDP, while conceding its wins in three councils, alleged irregularities in some areas, a claim the electoral umpire dismissed as baseless.
