The Christian doctor, part of an international medical aid team, was seen visibly shaken as he appealed at the Rafah border crossing, urging Egyptian officials to allow trucks carrying vital supplies into the besieged enclave.

“We are not asking for anything political — only to save lives. Please, let us in with the food and medicine,” the doctor said, his voice breaking as he fought back tears.

International humanitarian groups have repeatedly warned of an impending catastrophe in Gaza, where hospitals are overwhelmed, medical supplies depleted, and hundreds of thousands face hunger due to the continued blockade and bombardments.

Egypt has faced growing calls to open the border fully for aid convoys. While some shipments have been permitted in coordination with the United Nations, aid agencies insist that current levels are far below what is needed to meet the crisis.
