The operation followed a marching order from the NSCDC Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, directing immediate intervention in response to persistent security threats in the area.

Commander of the CG’s Special Intelligence Squad, Commandant A.S. Dandaura, narrated the ordeal faced by the communities.

He lamented the destruction caused by suspected bandits who have repeatedly targeted residents and farmers.

“In response to the marching order of the Commandant General, we set up an intelligence-driven operational mechanism to forestall incessant attacks against Nteng village,” Dandaura said.

He explained that the bandits exploited the community’s difficult terrain — mountainous, swampy, and waterlogged, and the absence of accessible roads, which delayed prompt security response.

The attacks, he added, led to the destruction of farmlands, residential buildings, the Primary Health Care Centre, and other properties, resulting in the displacement of more than 4,000 farmers, many of whom are now taking refuge in a primary school camp within Qua’an-Pan.

CSC Afolabi Babawale, the NSCDC National Public Relations Officer, in a statement on Friday reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding lives and property across rural communities, while urging displaced residents to trust in the security arrangements.
