According to credible sources, one of his wives has been accused of being responsible for his untimely death, allegedly pushing him from a balcony during a domestic dispute.

Akingboye, popularly known in political circles for his outspoken style and grassroots appeal, reportedly fell to his death in circumstances that have continued to raise questions within family and political networks.
