Reacting to the murder of American political commentator Charlie Kirk, Keyamo said the tragic incident should serve as a reminder that words and actions in the political space can inspire extreme behavior.

“The things we say and post in our intellectual contestations over political issues in our country can unwittingly rile others up to take extreme actions. Let us therefore eschew threats of violence, bigotry and hate speeches,” he stated via his X handle.

The minister described as “extreme cowardice” any resort to abuse, humiliation, or threats against those who hold opposing political views.
